    Job Description

    The primary purpose of this role is to prepare food in accordance with prescribed resident diet specifications, community procedures, and food safety and sanitation regulations. This position operates under the supervision of the Food Service Director and involves performing other duties as directed by community representatives. The role requires adherence to all health, sanitary, and infection control policies while maintaining established standards of practice as set forth by the community’s administration and Dietary Policies and Procedures.

    Responsibilities

    + Organize and adjust tables for dining areas, ensuring cleanliness and ease of use.

    + Assist team members with preparing and cooking meals for the facility.

    + Deliver meals and food trays to residents at predetermined times.

    + Discard trash and remove waste after scheduled dining hall times.

    + Maintain clean and orderly food stations for buffets and special events.

    + Monitor pantry stock and inform management of items running low and in need of re-ordering.

    + Assist the kitchen manager in creating menus within budget and requirements of residents.

    Essential Skills

    + Foodservice and food preparation skills.

    + Experience as a line cook or dishwasher.

    + Strong customer service skills.

    + Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.

    + Ability to work on your feet for extended periods.

    + Flexibility to work holidays and weekends.

    + Ability to lift and transport heavy trays and carts.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in a medical environment or customer service is preferred.

    + Skilled in preparing food for large groups.

    + Basic understanding of kitchen cookware and appliances.

    + Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

    + Professional certification in food sanitation may be required depending on the state of employment.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greensburg, PA.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr.
