Job Description
As an Electromechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for building both new and existing products, including up to five sub-assemblies per week. You will work primarily in mechanical assembly, following work instructions and blueprints. You will collaborate with the engineering team on custom assemblies, utilizing drawings and occasionally developing work instructions. The role involves assembling components and troubleshooting mechanical systems such as gears, motors, and pumps using hand and power tools in line with design specifications.
Responsibilities
+ Assemble and troubleshoot mechanical systems, such as gears, motors, and pumps, using hand and power tools.
+ Hand-solder electronic components on Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) in accordance with IPC-J-STD-001 soldering requirements.
+ Perform precision soldering on PCBs and assemble mechanical subsystems of medium to high complexity.
+ Conduct in-process inspections and connect units to test equipment, measuring voltage, amps, wattage, and frequency.
+ Evaluate and repair units that do not meet specifications, recording test data and comparing results with specifications.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in mechanical assembly, including the use of calipers, torque wrenches, and micrometers.
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and work instructions.
+ Familiarity with electronic assembly and soldering techniques.
+ Ability to use small hand tools and perform electrical wiring.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with IPC 610 or J-STD 001 standards is preferred.
+ Ability to check and verify drawings for accuracy and communicate any discrepancies.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and common reasoning ability.

Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with occasional Saturday work once a month and potential for overtime. As part of a small R&D company, you'll engage in hands-on work, taking apart and rebuilding products daily. Training on custom builds will last nearly a year, ensuring you are well-prepared for success in your role.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
