Job Title: Laser Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The role involves operating laser machinery, setting up tooling, reading blueprints, and occasionally using a forklift. The ideal candidate should have experience with CNC punching machines, press brakes, milling machines, and other similar equipment.

Responsibilities

+ Operate laser machines and ensure optimal performance.

+ Set up tooling and read blueprints accurately.

+ Handle CNC punching machines, press brakes, and milling machines.

+ Perform basic mathematical operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

+ Read and interpret tape measures for precise measurements.

+ Stand for up to 10 hours per day and lift weights ranging from 10 to 50 lbs for the majority of the day.

+ Conduct mechanical repairs and fabrication tasks as needed.

Essential Skills

+ Experience with operating CNC punching machines, press brakes, milling machines, and lasers.

+ Ability to perform basic mathematical operations.

+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and tape measures.

+ Physical ability to stand for long hours and lift heavy weights.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Desire to learn and operate hand tools, power tools, and welding/fabrication techniques.

Work Environment

Adhere to the dress code of steel-toe/composite boots, jeans, and short sleeves. The company provides necessary PPE including hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection. Enjoy a work schedule from Monday to Friday, with 2nd shift hours from 3:15 pm to 1:45 am, and the possibility of overtime on Saturdays or extended hours.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Story City, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
