A Snapshot of Your Day
In this role you’ll be responsible for the construction,
commissioning, and maintenance of Siemens Gamesa and / or Senvion wind turbines
at one of our potential Wind Turbine sites in the US. Although this position
will have a home wind farm site, it will also be part of a mobile team that
supports three other sites as needed. Provide excellent service to our
customers, analyze and react to people in stressful hazardous situations.
How You’ll Make an Impact
+ Contribute to the improvement of new and updated fieldprocedures and standard methodologies.
+ Ability to work inside the wind turbine enclosure at anelevated height of 300 feet.
+ Ability to think clearly and maintain composure duringstressful and or hazardous situations is a critical to success in the position.
+ Physical requirements of the job include but not limited to:Ladder climbing minimum 267 steps, up stair climbing, standing for longperiods, walking, lifting, bending, twisting, work above shoulders, pushing,pulling, exposure to vibration, chemicals, confined spaces and extreme weatherconditions.
+ Capable of efficiently taking on additional roles andresponsibilities at an operating wind farm.
What You Bring
+ High school diploma or equivalent is required along with 2+ years’ experience. A College degree or equivalent competency in a fieldrelated to the work of a wind farm technician ie: electrical / mechanicalsystems is preferred. Various combinations of education, training, andexperience will be considered.
+ Demonstrated ability to work safely and effectively in ateam environment. Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 pounds or less asrequired by the safety regulations. Must pass a physical administered by amedical practitioner to ensure ability to safely perform the job functions andmeet the physical demands of the position
+ Strong ability to prioritize and plan daily/weekly work witha high level of quality orientation, ability to analyze and resolve problemsindependently.
+ Hands experience working with electrical systems includingPLC programming and converters.
+ Experience interacting with customers at various levels ofresponsibility within their respective organizations.
+ Traveling (up to 95%) to customer sites within and outsidethe US is a requirement of the job. Must be eligible to hold a valid Passportand Driver’s License.
+ Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
