Facilities Manager
The Facilities Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, safety, compliance and continuous improvement of company facilities. This role leverages a strong background in process engineering to enhance operational workflows, ensure equipment reliability, and lead the maintenance and facility teams.

Starting as a hardware supply store during the California Gold Rush and eventually assisted in the birth of the aerospace industry in Southern California by providing aircraft aluminum to early aerospace pioneers like Lindbergh, Douglas and Lockheed.
Today Ducommun is a global provider of innovative manufacturing solutions for customers in the aerospace, defense and industrial markets. We specialize in electronic and structural systems, producing complex products and components for commercial aircraft platforms, mission-critical military and space programs, and sophisticated industrial applications.
Our Facility in Huntsville, AR manufactures state-of-the-art integrated electromechanical assemblies for Aerospace and Defense.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Operations & Maintenance
+ Manage overall facility operations including HVAC, utilities, mechanical systems, electrical infrastructure and building assets.
+ Develop, implement and oversee preventive, predictive and reliability-centered maintenance programs to reduce downtime and increase facility readiness.
+ Ensure facility readiness for production, logistics or business operations; maintain compliance with building codes, environmental regulations and life-safety requirements.
Maintenance Team Leadership
+ Direct, supervise and mentor maintenance technicians.
+ Assign tasks, monitor performance and conduct evaluations of the maintenance team.
+ Develop the team’s technical capabilities through coaching and training programs.
+ Establish and track key performance indicators.
+ Foster a culture of ownership, safety and continuous improvement within the maintenance department.
Process Improvement & Engineering
+ Utilize process engineering methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to optimize workflow, facility layout, maintenance workflows and equipment uptime.
+ Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and implement corrective actions.
+ Develop, update and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance and facility operations.
Health, Safety & Compliance
+ Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA and all applicable local, state and federal regulations.
+ Lead safety inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations within the facility and maintenance operations.
+ Promote a proactive safety culture focused on prevention, training and continuous improvement.
Financial & Resource Management
+ Develop and oversee facility and maintenance budgets including labor, materials, utilities and capital expenditures.
+ Manage spare parts inventory levels, vendor relationships and service contracts.
+ Perform cost-benefit analyses for facility improvement projects or maintenance strategies.
Capital Project Management
+ Plan and manage facility upgrades, renovations and equipment installations.
+ Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, production, operations) and external contractors to deliver projects on time, within scope and budget.
Required Skills and Qualifications
+ Proficiency in maintenance planning tools.
+ Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles.
+ Knowledge of regulatory and safety compliance requirements and building/facility systems.
+ Strong analytical skills with a focus on process optimization and problem-solving.
+ Strong leadership, communication and team-building abilities.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work cross-functionally.
+ Project management experience (PMP certification is a plus).
Required Experience and Education
+ Bachelor’s degree in Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management or related discipline required.
+ Advanced degree or certifications in facility or maintenance management preferred (e.g., CFM, CMRP, FMP).
+ Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in facility management, maintenance leadership or process/operations engineering.
+ Proven track record of supervising maintenance personnel in an industrial or manufacturing setting.

+ Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)
+ Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
+ Certified Facility Manager (CFM)
+ OSHA 30 Certification
+ Project Management Professional (PMP)
