Description
The Mobile Phone Support Technician is responsible for managing and supporting mobile device operations within the organization. This role ensures timely fulfillment of mobile service requests, accurate inventory management, and high-quality customer support. The technician will work closely with internal teams and external vendors to maintain efficient mobile services and device lifecycle processes.
Key Responsibilities
+ Reconcile client demand for mobile services with available resources.
+ Process mobile device requests in ServiceNow and ensure proper device assignment per company guidelines.
+ Document all transactions and update systems with accurate device information.
+ Input inventory data into Telecom Expense Management systems for organized records and reporting.
+ Assist with packing and shipping inventory as requested.
+ Create and maintain inventory reports.
+ Perform soft wipes, physical cleaning, quality checks, and re-enter devices into inventory for redeployment.
+ Maintain availability for customers, team members, and other departments via email, desk phone, and instant messaging during work hours.
+ Ensure proper stock levels (iPads, phones, etc.) and timely device shipments.
+ Coordinate with vendors (AT&T and Verizon) for new lines of service and modifications to existing wireless lines.
+ Create documentation as requested.
+ Record all support activities for accurate measurement of work performed.
+ Track inventory, including manual cycle counts when necessary.
+ Provide expertise on support services when requested by peers and clients.
+ Resolve escalated calls in the Call Tracking system and assume primary responsibility for mobility support issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications
+ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle a wide variety of issues.
+ Experience with technology in a business environment, including exposure to Service Desk Support.
+ Customer service experience in mobile services with exceptional organizational skills.
+ Ability to prioritize and assess the criticality of incoming requests.
+ Fundamental understanding of Outlook and Microsoft Office applications.
+ Ability to translate technical terms into non-technical language.
+ Familiarity with computer terms and acronyms.
+ Ability to follow departmental processes and document resolutions using knowledge management tools.
+ Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
+ Strong communication and organizational skills.
+ Ability to coordinate with other departments and external vendors.
+ Self-motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented.
Preferred Skills
+ Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.
+ Knowledge of Telecom Expense Management systems.
+ Familiarity with iOS, Android, and tablet devices.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Waukegan, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
