As a **Laboratory Animal Technician** , you’ll play a vital hands-on role in caring for research animals and supporting breeding programs that fuel innovative biomedical research.     **Pay** : $20-$22

    **Schedule** : M-F 6:00am-2:30pm

    **Type of Job** :6-month contract with possible extension

    **Location** : Duarte, CA

    Laboratory Animal Technician Daily Tasks: What you will do:

    + Provide daily care and monitoring of research animals, reporting any health concerns.

    + Manage animal breeding colonies, including mating, weaning, animal identification, and tissue biopsy.

    + Maintain accurate breeding and husbandry records and respond to researcher inquiries.

    + Change cages, ensure adequate food/water, and maintain clean and sanitized work areas.

    + Perform animal handling, restraint, transfers, and humane euthanasia when required.

    + Monitor and document environmental conditions and report equipment or compliance issues.

    Laboratory Animal Technician Qualifications/Requirements:

    + 2+ years of experience in laboratory animal care, veterinary technician work, or related field.

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + Ability to handle and restrain research animals safely.

    + AALAS ALAT Certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire).
