Job Description
Our client seeks a dynamic, results-driven Philanthropic Partnerships Contractor to steward and expand foundation funding while managing the Senior Manager of Individual Giving. This role is critical to advancing the mission of ensuring health, dignity, and economic security for 40 million older adults by 2030. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in securing 6- and 7-figure foundation grants, building long-term partnerships, and driving revenue growth in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.
Foundation Funding Strategy & Execution (Primary Focus)
• Steward and Grow Current Partnerships: Proactively manage relationships with existing foundation funders, ensuring high-touch stewardship, timely reporting, and renewal/upsell opportunities.
• Secure New Funding: Identify, qualify, and cultivate new foundation prospects aligned with NCOA’s strategic priorities (health equity, economic security, advocacy).
• Proposal Development: Lead end-to-end creation of compelling grant proposals, budgets, and impact reports, collaborating with program, finance, and evaluation teams.
• Pipeline Management: Maintain a robust 12-month pipeline to meet or exceed the annual foundation revenue goal.
• Culture of Philanthropy: Serve as lead for internal Philanthropic Partnerships Pod. The Philanthropic Partnerships Pod will drive collaborative strategies to achieve combined Foundation Grants + Individual Giving goals by advancing cross-divisional ownership of revenue generation. This pod will align programmatic priorities with philanthropic opportunities, ensuring a unified approach to stewarding foundation partnerships, expanding individual donor engagement, and advancing equity-centered fundraising practices.
Targeting $50-$70 an hour

Skills and Requirements
Onsite in Arlington 2 days a week
• Experience: 15+ years in nonprofit fundraising with a focus on foundation relations. Proven success in securing grants of $100K+ and managing 7-figure portfolios.
• Leadership: 3+ years managing staff or consultants, with ability to mentor and drive team performance. • Existing relationships with national foundations (e.g., Kellogg, RWJF, AARP Foundation).
• Experience in aging, health equity, or economic justice sectors.
