Job Description
A client of Insight Global is looking to hire an OTP SUDP to join their team full time and onsite in Vancouver, WA. This individual will provide compassionate, evidence-based counseling and support to individuals navigating recovery from substance use disorders. Works as part of a collaborative care team to support patients' recovery journeys without judgment or coercion and – grounded in motivational interviewing and harm reduction - emphasizes empowerment, respect, and optimism. Adheres to HIPAA and confidentiality requirements. Honors and represents the mission, vision, values of CIT and of the HHS department.

Essential Duties and responsibilities:
• Deliver individual and group counseling sessions; tailor interventions based on patient needs and urine drug screen results.
• Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans; conduct assessments, referrals, and follow-up care.
• Communicate effectively with medical and administrative staff regarding patient status, documentation, and insurance matters.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient care, treatment plans, and incidents.
• Participate in on-call rotation, supervision sessions, and team collaboration.
• Provide community education on substance use disorders as authorized by the Clinic Director.
• Ensure patient dignity, confidentiality, and adherence to safety protocols.
• Support aftercare planning to promote long-term recovery.
• Stay current with professional standards through research, training, and continuing education.
• Contribute to staff development and organizational growth.
• Uphold clinical protocols, personnel policies, and licensing requirements.
• Demonstrate therapeutic techniques that foster emotional regulation, communication, and coping skills.
• Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, seminars, and networking.
• Promote a safe, respectful, and growth-oriented environment for patients and staff.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge:
• Knowledge of Traditional tribal government, customs, and traditions.
• Knowledge and understanding of Clinical counseling principles, substance use disorders, chemical dependency programs, and evidence-based treatments.
• Knowledge of Medications for opioid use disorder and their biological effects.
• Knowledge of Mandatory reporting requirements under the Indian Child Protection Act.
• Knowledge of related Accreditation and certification standards.
• Ability to follow Cowlitz OTP outpatient treatment model and related methodologies.
• Knowledge of Intensive case management, mental health concepts, CBT, motivational interviewing, recovery, and mindfulness practices.
Skills:
• Able to deliver patient care with tact, courtesy, and respect.
• Apply evidence-based practices, including Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and medication-assisted treatment.
• Prepare and maintain accurate patient records; stay organized and detail-oriented.
• Communicate effectively (verbal and written) and build rapport quickly with patients and families.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards.
• Stay calm, professional, and compassionate in high-stress situations.
• Provide and receive constructive feedback; demonstrate flexibility, reliability, and humility.
Abilities:
• Ability to implement and evaluate individualized treatment plans and therapeutic programs.
• Assess patient progress, symptoms, and reactions; modify care as needed.

• Maintain passion for patient care under all circumstances.

Skills and Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Counseling, or related field preferred.
• Must be certified (or registered) by a Washington-recognized drug-and-alcohol certifying body (including ‘trainee’ categories) and/or certified as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor, or Associate Social Worker, or Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (working toward licensure).
• Training in counseling or addiction treatment.
• Three years' work experience in counseling, case management or social work.
• A combination of relevant education and related work experience may be considered.
• Must be able to provide health and TB clearance.
• Valid driver’s license is required when driving vehicles for work-related purposes.
• Must be able to successfully pass a background screening / investigation according to the established requirements below. • Experience working within American Indian and/or Alaska Native communities preferred.
