    Job Title:              Accounting Staff Accountant

     

    Classification:     Exempt

     

    Department:      Accounting

     

    Reports to:          Accounting Manager

    Purpose:

    Assists in general ledger maintenance, preparation of accounting statements and financial reports; maintains record of business transactions and records;

    General Duties:

    + Requires physical activity throughout shift(except breaks and lunch) such as long periods of sitting; substantial walking and standing, reaching, handling, near/far vision, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting objects weighing up to 10 lbs.

    + Review accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences.

    + Prepare adjusting journal entries.

    + Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts.

    + Report to management regarding the finances of establishment.

    + Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.

    + Maintain or examine the records of government agencies.

    + Advise clients in areas such as compensation, employee health care benefits, the design of accounting or data processing systems, or long-range tax or estate plans.

    + Provide internal and external auditing services for businesses or individuals.

    + Prepare forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel and direct their work activities.

    + Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, or maintain solutions to business and financial problems.

    + Prepare and submit customer invoices

    + Code, post and receipt payments

    + Monitor customer accounts for non-payment and delayed payment

    + Track and reconcile Petty Cash

    + Managerial accounting activities – assist accounting expatriate in analysis.

    + Cash forecasting – Cash receipt.

    Skills:

    + Analytical skills.

    + Self- starter, multi-tasked and detailed oriented, good computer skills and math skills.

    + Compliance with legal guidelines.

    + Writing — communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

    + Monitoring — Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.

    + Coordination — Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.

    Requirements:

    + Four year degree in accounting
