    TRS' Qualified Pension Plan (QPP) is a defined benefit plan that provides members with a monthly retirement allowance upon meeting certain eligibility requirements.     Position Summary

    The Benefits Administration Department is seeking a detail-oriented member-focused individual to join the Employer Management Group. The ideal candidate will assist with handling cases of varying complexity and support service-related issues. Additionally, the candidate, will assist in identifying and addressing issues with TRS systems and collaborate with team members and external partners to share necessary information and explanations.

    Key Responsibilities

    - Review and process member accounts, including the calculation of service credit in accordance with retirement laws and regulations, to determine eligibility, identify deficits, and facilitate optional service purchases.

     

    - Update and maintain member demographic, employment, salary, and service information within the TRS system.

     

    - Investigate and resolve discrepancies in member data, contribution deductions, and service records.

     

    - Identify and report issues within TRS systems; collaborate with developers, QA teams, and project managers to support testing and implementation of system updates.

     

    - Contribute to the development and revision of department procedures, policies, and correspondence to ensure compliance with applicable rules and service regulations.

     

    - Address and reconcile exceptions, account shortfalls, and discrepancies related to payroll or member contributions.

     

    - Assist in data migration activities associated with the modernization of TRS pension management systems.

     

    - Perform root cause analyses of missing employment data or salary discrepancies and recommend appropriate resolutions.

     

    - Coordinate with internal business units and escalate issues to management as necessary.

     

    - Prepare and present periodic updates to management and collaborate

    Qualifications

    1. An associate degree or completion of 60 credits from an accredited college, including or supplemented by 9 credits in mathematics, statistics, accounting, and/or actuarial science; or

    2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and two years of satisfactory full-time experience performing mathematical, statistical, actuarial or accounting computations in one or more of the following: a) a retirement or employee benefits plan; b) customer service in a financial

     

    institution; and/or c) in a position requiring the application of laws, rules and regulations and the use of statistical, actuarial or similar tables; or

     

    3. A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to “1" or “2" above. College education may be substituted for experience in “2" above on the basis that 30 semester credits from an accredited college may be substituted for each year of required experience. However, all candidates must posses a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and either 9 semester credits

     

    in mathematics, statistics, accounting and/or actuarial science from an accredited college or one year of experience as described in “2" above.
