Description
This is a high impact role that will help deliver data-driven insights that will be foundational to optimizing sales planning, performance targets, and sales compensation at AWS. They will accelerate performance-focused planning and compensation strategies through sophisticated data-driven insights, innovative performance metrics, and updated design approaches. They will partner with AWS' sales incentive compensation design, planning, policy, analytics, operations, finance and product teams.
Your expertise will provide data-driven insights and recommendations to drive enhanced sales compensation effectiveness, improved sales planning and external market insights. This role balances a blend of analytical prowess, strategic thinking, and deep understanding of sales behaviors. It offers a unique opportunity to influence AWS sales strategy.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of the foundational data and key business drivers to AWS variable compensation and segmentation.
- Create scalable data-driven dashboards to accelerate actionable decision-making for SMGS Leadership.
- Design and implement a comprehensive reporting & analytical roadmap to derive key decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize data to enhance existing analytical capabilities.
- Strong verbal and written communications to share findings with business leaders, finance, and technical teams to influence decision-making and product enhancements.

About the team
The Decision Analytics Team forms part of the Sales Marketing & Global Services organization. As Amazon Web Services (AWS) continues to grow, this team plays an important role in scaling revenue, processes and enabling strategy through sales compensation incentive design in support of thousands of sellers across numerous industries, geographies, and product lines.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of analytical, quantitative, communication, and presentations experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience developing and implementing systems/tools utilized for CRM, variable compensation, revenue reporting, forecasting, Salesforce automation, etc.
- Experience conducting sophisticated and creative analysis of complex data and translate the results into actionable deliverables, messages, and presentations
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
- Experience using Salesforce (or other CRM tool) or BI tools
- Experience presenting to senior leadership
- Experience with SQL

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
