Nuvance Health is seeking an experienced *Outpatient Coder II* to join our growing *remote medical coding team*. In this role, you will accurately code and abstract outpatient medical records for reimbursement, compliance, and statistical purposes. This position is ideal for a certified professional coder who thrives in a collaborative, fully remote environment while maintaining high standards of coding accuracy and productivity. *Key Responsibilities*
*
Review, assign, and validate *ICD-10-CM* and *CPT-4* codes for outpatient records according to official coding guidelines.
*
Code outpatient medical records timely and accurately following Nuvance Health policies.
*
Initiate queries to providers when documentation is *incomplete, ambiguous, or conflicting* to ensure coding accuracy.
*
Ensure compliance with *Federal, State, and payer-specific regulations*.
*
Maintain a *minimum accuracy rate of 95%* for ICD-10 and CPT coding.
*
Participate in *quality improvement, compliance reviews, and audit processes*.
*
Stay current with *AHIMA/AAPC coding updates, webinars, and continuing education*.
*
Collaborate with peers and leadership to improve workflow efficiency and coding accuracy.
*Qualifications*
*
Certification required: *CPC, CPC-H, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, RHIT*, or specialty coding certification.
*
Minimum of *2+ years of production coding experience* in outpatient or multispecialty settings.
*
*Experience in critical care, E/M, and trauma profee coding required.*
*
Strong working knowledge of *MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)* and EHR/coding software.
*
Excellent attention to detail, communication, and analytical skills.
*
Must reside in one of the approved states listed above.
