As a Communications Specialist III, you will collaborate with the Communications team to support product priorities, focusing on creator-led media strategies and execution for product updates and launches. This role involves engaging with creators and social publishers to enhance media presence, conducting press outreach, and facilitating creator engagements to effectively reach target audiences. You will represent communications on cross-functional teams, providing input for go-to-market plans, strategies, and tactics. Building and managing relationships with consumer/tech reporters and new media outlets is crucial to reach creators directly.
Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with the Communications team to support product priorities and media strategies.
+ Execute product updates and launches with a focus on creator-led media.
+ Support communications initiatives through press outreach and creator engagements.
+ Represent the communications team in cross-functional working groups.
+ Build and manage relationships with consumer/tech reporters and media outlets.
+ Provide communications input for go-to-market strategies and tactics.
Essential Skills
+ 4 years of experience in PR, journalism, social media, or a related field.
+ Direct experience in product communications with cross-functional collaboration.
+ Understanding of the consumer/creator and tech media landscape.
+ Ability to build and maintain relationships with key press contacts.
+ Strong writing skills, including experience in writing press statements, blogs, narratives, and social copy.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience working with youth culture reporters is a plus.
+ Aspiration to explore new ways to tell product and trend stories on next-gen publications and social media platforms.
Work Environment
The preferred work environment is onsite in Los Angeles or New York. However, remote work may be considered for candidates with the right skill set. The role involves attending cross-functional meetings, engaging in press outreach, writing, and planning for upcoming moments. This is a Contract position based out of Los Angeles, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
