We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment and will be responsible for managing and maintaining cost accounting systems, assisting with inventory management, and performing standard cost roll-ups.
Responsibilities
+ Manage and maintain cost accounting systems and assist with inventory management.
+ Maintain all standard costs and perform standard cost roll-ups.
+ Develop estimated costs for new projects.
+ Review daily Work-In-Process and close work orders while reviewing job costs.
+ Investigate and analyze all Material (PPV, Usage) and Labor (Rate, Efficiency, Usage) variances.
+ Investigate and analyze all scrap, rework, and outside processing variances.
+ Assist with month-end closing, prepare journal entries, and analyze inventory evaluation.
+ Calculate annual labor and overhead rates.
+ Represent the Accounting staff in meetings when requested.
+ Create and maintain fixed asset records.
+ Contribute to the Accounting team effort by acting as a lead to Accounting Clerks in the absence of the Controller.
+ Assist with related duties as assigned by the Controller.
Essential Skills
+ 5 to 7 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Cost Accounting Standards.
+ Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and ERP software. Experience with MAS500 is a plus.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with staff, customers, and others.
+ Ability to research, compile, analyze, and interpret data.
+ Ability to work independently and show initiative under minimal supervision.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
+ Strong ability to adapt and remain flexible in an ever-changing environment.
+ Sense of urgency and ability to execute expected results.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with reconciliation, month-end procedures, and cost analysis.

The position requires working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, where accuracy and confidentiality are paramount. The role demands flexibility and adaptability, with opportunities to lead and represent the accounting team in various meetings.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Stow, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $43.00/hr.
