Summary:
Meta Reality Labs is looking for interns to help create the next generation of eye tracking for virtual and augmented reality. Our research focuses on true solutions to complex tracking problems, delivering novel technologies and algorithms fundamental to future VR and AR systems. You’ll have the unique opportunity to work with industry-leading researchers and engineers who are defining the future of AR/VR.We welcome PhD students in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or similar. In particular, we are looking for candidates with experience in multimodal image/volume processing, extracting motion from multimodal data, 3D computer vision, and machine learning. We welcome students with a passion for working in a strongly collaborative team that spans research across algorithms, software, hardware design, and systems prototyping.Our internships are twelve (12) to twenty-four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.
Required Skills:
Research Scientist Intern, Eye Tracking and Health (PhD) Responsibilities:
1. Participate in cutting-edge Computer Vision & Machine Learning research and development for VR/AR/MR related topics.
2. Collaborate with and support other researchers across various disciplines.
3. Design and implement robust algorithms for multimodal eye-tracking systems.
4. Communicate research agenda, progress and results.
5. Publish research results in top-tier journals and at leading international conferences.
6. Document and present research progress and aim to publish findings at high-impact CV/ML conferences.
Minimum Qualifications:

7. Knowledge in CV/ML, in one or more of the following domains: 3D computer vision, object detection and tracking, image/volume processing, optimization, calibration, 3D tracking, 3D pose estimation
8. 2+ years of experience with Machine Learning for solving computer vision and/or computer graphics problems
9. Experience with deep learning frameworks such as Pytorch and TensorBoard
10. Experience with scientific programming languages such as Python
11. Excellent interpersonal skills, cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
12. Ability to communicate complex research in a clear, precise, and actionable manner
13. Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

14. Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by publications in top CV/ML conferences (e.g., CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICML etc.) or journals
15. Demonstrated software engineering experience via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used contributions in open source repositories (e.g. GitHub)
16. Experiences working on high volume image data processing or synthesis
17. Hands-on experience working with head mounted devices (such as Aria or Quest Pro) to collect, and analyze data to validate hypotheses
18. Experience of working with multimodal biosensor data
19. Intent to return to a degree-program after the completion of the internship
Public Compensation:
$7,650/month to $12,134/month + benefits
