Job Summary

Perform tasks and assignments to support project objectives by applying mechanical engineering principles and concepts to formulate solutions.

Learning Outcomes:

+ Use SolidWorks to create 3D models and CAD drawings

+ Work with team members to achieve short term milestones as assigned by project teams.

+ Design, document and review detailed part drawings and work with Model Shop to have parts fabricated. Incorporate design feedback into drawing updates.

Primary Responsibilities:

+ Support mechanical design and test of development programs

Secondary Responsibilities:

+ Support production program failures, analyses and tooling design as needed

+ Process drawing changes from redlines through full Agile release using Sparton's change management process.

+ Other assignments may be added / adjusted as applicable

Requirements:

Sparton interns must meet the following criteria:

+ Nice to Have: Course Completion of Finite Element Analysis Course

+ Active pursuit of a Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress.

+ Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).

+ Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

+ Must be 18 years of age or older.

+ Must be a U.S. Citizen.

+ Must be able to work on-site in De Leon Springs, FL

Mentor: Mechanical Engineering Manager/ Delegate as needed
