    Salary Range: $145,800.00 - $156,600.00

     

    *As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC Offices

    Position Summary

    Responsible for the provision of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, medication management, and psychotherapeutic interventions in ambulatory care settings.

    Job Responsibilities

    + Makes assessments of mental health needs in an adult population.

    + Performs medical histories and physical examinations; diagnoses mental health/psychiatric conditions.

    + Develops and executes treatment plans.

    + Writes prescription and orders; triages and evaluates urgent patient issues.

    + Provides psychotherapeutic interventions as needed.

    + Provides continuity of care through patient/family education and follow-up care. Identifies, documents and evaluates patient/family teaching needs. Develops/distributes educational materials. Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.

    + Collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team comprised of psychiatrist(s), psychologist(s), licensed clinical social worker(s), and care manager(s) to ensure smooth communications and effective delivery of service to patients.

    + Carries a client case load and has responsibility for maintaining assigned productivity levels each month.

    + Performs select tasks to support the workflow of the collaborating physicians.

    + Records medical information within the patients’ electronic medical record.

    + Provides education, training and mentorship to trainees and students.

    Education

    + Master's Degree in Nursing

    Experience

    + Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

    + Approximately 2 or more years of clinical experience as an NP in a physician practice or hospital setting, preferably within a related specialty.

    + The ideal candidate will have a passion for Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry and the confidence to work with medically ill patients and with integrated approaches to care.

    + Expertise in psychopharmacology, substance abuse, smoking cessation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and a strong academic background are highly desirable.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    + Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).

    + Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills in person, via email and on the telephone.

    + Patience and a high capacity for empathy and perseverance.

    Licenses and Certifications

    + NYS Registered Nurse Practitioner (NP) license and current NP registration with psychiatry specialty practice.

    + NYS Registered Professional Nurse license and current RN registration

    + Applicable National Board Certification (such as ANCC, PNCB, etc).

    + BLS Certification (issued by the American Heart Association)

    + Infection Control Certificate.

    + Current Narcotics DEA registration certificate
