    _This position is based in Tonganoxie, Kansas, a global and strategic Pet Food manufacturing site._

     

    The Financial Analyst is responsible for providing value added reporting and analysis to achieve budget goals and supporting continuous improvement activities relating to Finance. This position focuses on Accounts Payable, Material Variances, Inventory and Fixed Assets. As Tonganoxie is a new wet (canned product) facility being built in 2022, with a March 2023 completion date, the Finance Analyst will aid plant sustainable growth activities including standardizing processes and SAP modules to support plant operations, vendor management, assets capitalization, project spend administration, supporting plant operations and transactional workflows working collaboratively with Plant-based partners, Global IT, Shared Service Center, Supply Chain and Division Finance teams.

    Responsibilities:

    + Assist in month-end close activities including preparation and timely submission of accurate journal entries

    + Partner with budget owners to deeply understand expense variances and develop precise accruals.

    + Reviewing expenses and balance sheet account reconciliations vs. budget and providing detailed variance reports with the drivers for Plant Controllers review and support preparation of monthly Plant Performance Report

    + Participate actively in the preparation of the plant’s annual operating budget and standard costs, as well as LE forecasts in March, June and July

    + Maintain Plant’s open commitments list in SAP, collaborating with budget owners to ensure open Purchase Orders (POs) are closed adequately and promptly.

    + Monitor purchase order reports in SAP to ensure timely and accurate goods receipts.

    + Drive improvement activities in A/P to reduce transactional costs and increase value-added reporting capabilities to the plant. This includes working with the plant personnel to ensure timely resolution of invoices in query resolution.

    + Supports Inventory and Fixed Assets Reporting and cycle / year-end physical counts,

    + Coordinate the financial closure of capital projects with the Plant Engineering team and Plant Controller, including verification of payments, reconciliation of vendor spending, and commitment tracking.

    + Assists with Sarbanes-Oxley audit testing, as it pertains to all internal control SOPs.

    + Supports Plant Finance team in evaluating and controlling of Production Orders and works with business partners on continuous improvement and Absolute material losses reduction

    + Provide periodic financial training for plant personnel

    + Participation in cross-functional teams and special projects, as needed

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field

    + 2+ years of accounting/finance or related work experience

    + Very strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Suite

    + Ability to research and resolve invoice issues, while working with different parties (vendors, budget owners and corporate departments.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience with SAP or other enterprise resource planning systems

    + Google Workspace tools (ideally also DOMO, Data Studio & AODocs)

    + Ability to multi-task and work efficiently with in team environment to meet deadlines

    Compensation and Benefits

    Salary Range $67,600.00 - $93,000.00 USD

     

    Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.

     

    Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
