    Our client, a government agency dedicated to public service and accessibility, is seeking an Accessibility Remediation Specialist to join their team. As an Accessibility Remediation Specialist, you will support initiatives to ensure digital accessibility compliance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, proactive communication skills, and a strong commitment to inclusivity, which will align successfully in the organization.

     

    **Job Title:** Accessibility Remediation Specialist

    **Location:** Sacramento, California

    **Pay Range:** up to $29

     

    What's the Job?

     

    + Review and update Microsoft Word and PDF documents to meet ADA, WCAG 2.1 AA, and Section 508 accessibility standards.

    + Apply correct heading structure, ALT Text, reading order, tagging, bookmarks, and metadata to ensure accessibility compliance.

    + Convert documents cleanly between Word and PDF formats while maintaining accessibility features.

    + Identify accessibility issues and correct formatting problems to enhance document usability.

    + Communicate with content owners to clarify intent or resolve accessibility-related issues effectively.

     

    What's Needed?

     

    + Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word accessibility features, including styles, headings, tables, lists, and alt text.

    + Advanced experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro, including tagging, reading order, and remediation tools.

    + Understanding of Section 508, WCAG 2.1 AA, and ADA accessibility requirements.

    + Ability to remediate complex documents, including forms, tables, and multi-section reports.

    + High attention to detail and strong quality assurance skills.
