    About our team:

    The Sponsored Products Marketplace Intelligence and AdClicks team is responsible for ranking, placing and pricing billions of ads per day. We seek a Technical Technical Program Manager to lead initiatives focused on improving the shopper experience through innovations ranging from ML modeling to new interactive discovery experiences. In this role, you'll have an opportunity to deliver outsized business impact and delight hundreds of missions of customers.

    Role Summary:

    You will be responsible for defining and delivering important programs with broad cross-organizational, cross-business, and significant technology impact. This role requires you to lead the design, implementation and delivery of highly complicated cross-functional project in ambiguous and new technology areas (e.g. delivery using Gen AI).

     

    As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will be 100% focused on the customer, understanding their needs and requirements, plus anticipating future trends that will serve their needs. You will also be excellent at driving results, being able to coordinate large, multi-functional projects on-time, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance business needs versus technical constraints. You are involved in defining or reviewing the systems-level technical design of your projects and balance near term business need with long term implications for Amazon. You rationalize technical requirements and business priorities in cross-functional teams. You manage cross-functional communication to ensure all business and technical stakeholder’s needs are aligned.

     

    The right candidate will possess a strong program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading medium to large products and projects, and will have a well-rounded background in current web technologies. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence and leadership are essential to success in this role. You will be data-driven and analytical. You constantly strive to expand our understanding of the metrics that drive our business and growth aspirations. Lastly, your communication skills - both verbal and written - are excellent, and you will be able to clearly communicate at all levels in the organization, including senior management.

    Key job responsibilities

    * Develop new metrics to measure different business considerations (monetization, shopper experience, advertiser experience, marketplace dynamics).

    * Develop new features, working backwards from shopper or advertiser problems and opportunities.

    * Intake requirements from external teams and define product direction and priorities.

    * Represent the business in regular leadership reviews.

    * Work across Amazon with partner teams both inside and outside advertising to drive long-term growth at a company-wide level.

    * Work across the organization to drive improvements to our ad serving systems to unlock emerging opportunities with state of the art foundation models

    Basic Qualifications

    - 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

     

    - 7+ years of technical product or program management experience

     

    - 5+ years of software development experience

     

    - Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

     

    - Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

     

    - Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

    Preferred Qualifications

    - 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience

     

    - Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

     

    - Experience in an online advertising role and have familiarity with advertising products and ad serving technologies

     

    - Experience developing, deploying and managing AI products at scale

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
