Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Specialist
Job Description
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting, developing, and enhancing EHS compliance and risk management processes. This position involves driving understanding and engagement to improve EHS performance for the portfolio, influencing leadership, and integrating EHS into daily operations. The EHS Specialist will support the development and execution of EHS compliance programs and is accountable for implementing environmental, health, and safety programs in line with global EHS policies.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and enhance EHS compliance and risk management processes.
+ Support the development and execution of EHS compliance programs.
+ Implement environmental, health, and safety programs, tools, and standards.
+ Conduct training and communication to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
+ Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to achieve compliance.
+ Conduct investigations of working conditions to prevent occupational disease and health hazards.
+ Promote EHS awareness through effective employee communications.
+ Serve as a key point of contact for safety and environmental issues.
+ Support regulated waste management including consolidation and inspections.
+ Conduct compliance tasks such as storm water sampling, waste inspections, and chemical inventory audits.
+ Execute compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and customer requirements.
+ Conduct EHS audits, develop action plans to resolve findings, and implement countermeasures.
+ Perform risk assessments related to jobs and new processes.
+ Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics for reporting.
+ Recommend risk mitigation measures for ergonomics.
+ Establish and manage the safety committee.
+ Drive continual improvement efforts to reduce site safety and environmental risk.
+ Support site stand-up meetings, safety committees, and floor inspections.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in EHS, health and safety, and environmental health.
+ Knowledge of environmental and waste disposal regulations.
+ Risk assessment skills.
+ Bachelor’s degree or higher in industrial hygiene, occupational health, environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
+ 1+ years' experience in EHS support, especially in warehousing.
+ Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
+ Ability to maintain confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in a manufacturing plant environment.
+ Ability to conduct Job Hazard Analysis for new processes and equipment.
Work Environment
The role requires the ability to lift up to 49 pounds and to stand or walk for up to 10 hours. The position supports operations in the Redmond/Kirkland area, with a typical work schedule of Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm. The candidate must be willing to work any shift based on availability and should be flexible to work days, nights, and/or weekends.

This is a Contract position based out of Redmond, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
