Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Distribution Designer to join our team in Greensboro. The ideal candidate will become an integral part of the asset team, supporting power distribution infrastructure upgrades and storm hardening projects throughout North Carolina.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct engineering calculations and design for replacing deteriorating cable.
+ Move overhead lines to underground and reconductor existing distribution lines.
+ Replace aging poles and perform structural analysis of poles and guying.
+ Carry out cable pulling, electric demand assessments, and fault current evaluations.
+ Coordinate protective devices to ensure optimal functioning of the distribution system.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum 2 years of experience in electric utility distribution design.
+ Proficiency in BOUD, Maximo, Smallworld, Bentley Open Utility Designer, and Microstation.
+ Understanding of primary and secondary distribution systems, utility standards, and design software packages.
+ Basic engineering theories and principles knowledge.
+ Ability to communicate effectively with customers and individuals from diverse backgrounds.
+ Experience interacting with customers and developers for distribution projects.
+ EIT certification or having passed the Engineering Fundamentals Exam.
Work Environment
The position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing work from home on Mondays and Fridays after 1-3 months based on development. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
