    Safety Manager

    Job Description

    The Safety Manager will coordinate and administer Site Safety Programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company safety and occupational health standards and procedures. This role involves providing safety resource support for assigned operating units, including training and permitting, to ensure all employees return 'Home Healthy – Home Safe' each shift. Travel is required for this position, and a company vehicle or allowance will be provided.

    Responsibilities

    + Investigate any incidents or near misses and report findings.

    + Attend safety meetings as required and conduct regular safety meetings with tradespersons.

    + Conduct written daily safety inspections of work activities and make them available for review to ensure compliance with safe work practices.

    + Take direction related to timely abatement and control of hazards.

    + Lead or participate in incident investigations and emergency response.

    + Conduct site inspections and track all corrective actions to closure.

    + Perform job safety analysis and maintain job site-specific documentation.

    + Coach and teach safety practices across the region.

    + Conduct safety training sessions.

    Essential Skills

    + 5-10 years of construction experience, with 5 years in on-site construction safety responsibilities.

    + CHST certification is required.

    + Specialized training relevant to the scope of work.

    + OSHA 500-hour Construction Outreach Training, or greater.

    + Working knowledge of construction safety regulations and hazard control methods.

    + Demonstrated ability to conduct safety training.

    Work Environment

    The role is fully onsite with opportunities for overtime, as projects are time-sensitive and need to be completed promptly. The site has a duration of 5 years, with additional bids for more work ongoing. Employees are expected to contribute to a fast-paced environment where meeting deadlines is crucial.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Davenport, IA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $67.31/hr.
