Job Title: UX Product Designer
We are seeking applicants for a contract opportunity with a large client in the Portland Metro area. This is a primarily onsite role for a UX/UI Product Designer. Contract comes with paid holiday, vacation and sick time, and a local employer to support while at the client site.
Job Description
As a Senior -Level Digital Product Designer, you will play a pivotal role in conceptualizing, designing, and delivering exceptional digital products that seamlessly integrate into our transportation solutions. This role includes a hybrid of UX and UI work as you’ll be working in the Human Machine Interface (HMI) Design team. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate user needs, business requirements, and technological capabilities into engaging and intuitive user experiences. This role requires a blend of creativity, technical proficiency, and a passion for innovation in the transportation industry.
Responsibilities
+ Own UX/UI design projects from concept to delivery ensuring alignment with brand and user needs.
+ Conduct and synthesize user research to inform design decisions.
+ Create detailed user flows, wireframes, journey maps, prototypes, and final production-ready assets.
+ Define interaction patterns and contribute to the design system for consistency across brands and platforms.
+ Work closely with engineers to ensure designs are developer-ready and accurately implemented.
+ Participate in workshops and design reviews, presenting your work and articulating design rationale to stakeholders.
+ Advocate for user-centered design principles and best practices across the organization.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in UX, Interaction Design, Product Design, Visual Design, or a related field.
+ 3-5 years of professional experience in UX/UI or product design with a portfolio demonstrating shipped or production-ready digital experiences.
+ Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
+ Solid understanding of user-centered design processes, design thinking, and usability principles.
+ Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
+ Ability to manage priorities and work independently on projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience designing for automotive, mobility, or other complex digital products.
+ Ability to play with 3D tools or rendering engines such as Cinema 4D, Alias, Blender.
+ Familiarity with real-time or embedded environments like Kanzi, Unreal, Unity.
+ Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
+ Experience mentoring junior designers or interns.
+ Passion and experience with animation and motion for storytelling.
Work Environment
The position is onsite four days a week, with one day remote. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm. The role involves building the team from the ground up, defining the future for digital design, and creating a significant impact.
Local or regional talent will be prioritized.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Portland, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $70.00/hr.
