Technical Lead

Actalent is in search of a technical lead that has a role which encompasses providing comprehensive engineering expertise, mentoring the team to enhance their skills, leading project management initiatives, contributing to the plant's systems architecture, maintaining crucial standards and best practices, and directing technical incident investigations for continuous improvement. The Technical Lead may also collaborate with other departments and external partners as needed.
Essential Functions
+ Collaborate with plant leadership to develop and implement the plant's strategic direction.
+ Provide engineering expertise to support technical needs, including project management, equipment design, developing specifications, and troubleshooting equipment failures.
+ Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technical personnel to expand their engineering capabilities.
+ Oversee detailed design improvements to plant processes, equipment, and standards as part of Management of Change processes.
+ Direct project management activities within the technical team and contribute to the design and architecture of plant systems (electrical, air, feedwater, process feed, hydrogen, CO₂, and control systems).
+ Ensure reference materials are maintained and updated to align with industry best practices, regulations, and standards.
+ Lead technical incident investigations, ensuring accurate root cause analysis and corrective actions.
+ Collaborate with other departments and external stakeholders on projects with broad impact.
+ Support integration of alternative source supplies and clean energy initiatives.
+ Assist in developing and implementing emergency response processes and contingencies.
+ Provide technical scope, cost estimates, and performance data for capital and operating budgets.
+ Participate in planning and execution of large-scale projects ensuring technical quality and compliance.
+ Stay informed of changes in industry laws, regulations, technologies, and trends, recommending improvements accordingly.
Other Functions
+ Comply with all safety rules and promote safe work habits.
+ Maintain EH&S training on a current basis.
+ Keep work areas and equipment clean, orderly, and safe.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
+ Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, science, or engineering.
+ Minimum of 5 years of technical work experience in maintenance, reliability, plant engineering design, and process engineering.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred
+ Successful experience in a leadership role.
+ 10 years of technical work experience in maintenance, reliability, plant engineering design, and process engineering.
+ 5+ years of project management experience.
+ Working knowledge of:
+ OSHA 29 CFR Part 1910 Process Safety Management (PSM)
+ EPA 68 CFR Risk Management Program (RMP)
+ ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes
+ NFPA 70 National Electrical Code (NEC)
+ PHMSA 49 CFR Parts 192 and 193
+ API standards (510, 520, 521, 570, etc.)
+ NFPA 58 Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code
+ Experience with Instrumentation and Control Systems.
+ Experience using CAD software.
+ Experience in a union environment.
Licenses & Certifications
+ Required: HAZWOPER, First Aid, CPR
+ Preferred: Professional Engineer License, AMPP/NACE Corrosion Technologist Certification

This is a Permanent position based out of Kapolei, HI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
