    Job Title: Medical Assistant - Infectious Disease

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our Infectious Disease Department. This role requires handling 75% of responsibilities on the phone, managing incoming patient calls, and directing them to the RN on duty. The remaining 25% involves assisting in the clinic, including rooming patients, taking vitals, and entering data into the EPIC system. The ideal candidate will be customer service-focused and comfortable working in a setting with 14 exam rooms.

    Responsibilities

    + Manage incoming patient calls and direct them to the RN on duty.

    + Assist in the clinic by rooming patients and taking vitals.

    + Enter patient data into the EPIC system.

    + Field approximately 30-50 calls per day.

    + Collaborate with a team of 9 medical assistants.

    Essential Skills

    + Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.

    + Experience with EPIC system.

    + Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical assisting.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is preferred.

    Work Environment

    The position is a full-time role, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The department handles 70-100 patients and operates as a teaching practice with 14 exam rooms. The work requires sitting for extended periods and a focus on customer service. Dress code is professional attire.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, MO.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
