Job Description: Automation Technician/Controls Technician
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automation Technician/Controls Technician to join our team. This role requires a hands-on individual proficient in building, wiring, and mounting controls. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in automation, particularly with assembly machines, packaging, or machine tools. A key aspect of this position involves wiring machines from blueprints and providing controls troubleshooting for machines returned for service.
Responsibilities
+ Build, wire, and mount control panels.
+ Interpret and work from blueprints to wire machines.
+ Troubleshoot and debug control systems and machinery.
+ Perform basic instrumentation tasks.
+ Assist in programming and design as needed.
+ Provide service and support for machines that require maintenance.
Essential Skills
+ 10+ years of panel wiring experience for control panels (open to 5-7 years with a relevant degree).
+ Experience in industrial, robotic, or automation control panels.
+ Proficient in troubleshooting and debugging control systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting is a plus.
+ Background in machine building is advantageous.
+ An Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Technology is preferred.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Crystal Lake, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
