    Description

    Looking for a Safety Specialist who:

    1. Develops, implements, monitors and continuously improves environmental, health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements.

    2. Prepares and presents plans for such programs.

    3. Provides training for Associates and others as needed for Environmental, Facility, and Safety Policy and Procedures.

    4. Monitors environmental and safety compliance issues and provides assistance with workplace safety matters. Performs and/or oversees environmental monitoring for facility discharges, storm water management, and other environmental related permits.

    5. Performs routine industrial and hazardous waste management activities such as waste inventories, vendor scheduling and waste haul oversight, and manifest tracking and filing.

    6. Conducts investigations and root cause analysis and may make resolution recommendations.

    7. Implements corrective/preventive actions and continuous improvement activities as directed.

    8. Maintains various reporting systems and provides safety analysis as required.

    9. Assists in job hazard assessments by participating in processes and procedures and researching industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

    10. Participates in EHS audits, inspections and routine surveys including the developing and drafting of audit documentation, tracking corrective actions, and monitoring trends in results of audit activities.

    11. Maintains EHS files and records. Modifies and implements compliance tracking programs and recordkeeping systems.

    12. Develops technical documents including EHS procedures, programs, and guidance documents.

    13. Maintains, updates and coordinates and conducts EHS training programs

    14. May respond to emergency situations during or after hours for purpose of resolving immediate safety/security concerns.

    Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health & Safety or related field.

     

    Project management/planning skills.

     

    Experience in automotive environment (Specialist 0-5 yrs)

     

    ISO14001, TS16949 experience

     

    Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations

    This is a Permanent position based out of Mount Sterling, KY.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $60000.00/yr.
