Jacobs is seeking an innovative Project Manager with expertise in rail and transit infrastructure to guide multidisciplinary design teams and manage projects from concept through construction. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of transit systems, stakeholder coordination, and project delivery within a consulting environment—particularly within the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area.
When you join us, you’ll be responsible for the following:
• Leading/supporting the planning, design, and execution of rail and transit infrastructure projects, including commuter rail and elevated subway systems
• Assisting the Management for project scope, schedule, budget, and quality across all phases of design and delivery.
• Coordinating with internal technical disciplines (civil, structural, systems, environmental, etc.) and external stakeholders including transit agencies, municipalities, and contractors.
• Serving as the primary client interface, ensuring alignment of project goals and expectations.
• Preparing and reviewing technical reports, design documents, and contract deliverables.
• Supporting business development efforts including proposal writing, client presentations, and strategic pursuits.
• Mentoring junior staff and contributing to Jacobs growth within the Rail and Transit Group
• Bachelor’s degree in in Business/Engineering or 15+ years’ experience in relevant, project management, construction management or other relevant rail and transit experience in lieu of degree
• Substantial professional experience in rail and transit infrastructure design, including previous project management experience for rail and transit
• Proven track record managing complex, multi-disciplinary transit projects
• Demonstrated experience working with Maryland transit agencies
• Strong knowledge of FTA, FRA, and local transit agency standards and procedures
• Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills
