Description

We are looking for a skilled Legal Assistant to join our team in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The ideal candidate will have experience in legal support, particularly within litigation. This role involves managing a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of legal proceedings and administrative functions.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, file, and manage legal documents, including e-filing for court submissions.

• Support attorneys in litigation cases by organizing case files and drafting correspondence.

• Coordinate and manage calendars, including court dates, appointments, and deadlines.

• Assist with scheduling meetings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.

• Conduct research and gather relevant case information to support legal strategies.

• Ensure compliance with court requirements and deadlines for filings.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of legal cases and documentation.

• Communicate with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progression.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role.

• Experience in personal injury or insurance defense preferred

• Proficiency in e-filing and familiarity with court filing procedures.

• Strong knowledge of civil litigation processes and legal terminology.

• Demonstrated ability to manage calendars and schedules effectively.

• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in legal research and document preparation software.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
