Stationary Engineer
Pay Rate - $40/hr.+
Job Description
As a Stationary Engineer, you will be dedicated to operating within the powerhouse, focusing on monitoring meters, diagnosing problems, and maintaining critical systems. You will be responsible for opening and closing valves, understanding steam pressure, and managing the chemical mixtures needed for machinery. Your role involves operating and maintaining all plant utility systems and associated equipment to support plant production and operations. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and compliance of operations, while contributing to continuous improvement projects.
Responsibilities
+ Operate and maintain systems and equipment, including all auxiliary systems associated with plant utilities.
+ Complete all Preventative Maintenance (PM’s) on powerhouse and associated equipment as directed.
+ Coordinate with the team to ensure 24/7 operations of all plant utilities systems.
+ Engage in problem-solving and resolution to achieve customer satisfaction and energy-saving initiatives.
+ Participate in project planning to enhance performance and outcomes.
+ Rotate through job assignments to maintain skill set levels across all functions.
+ Ensure compliance with environmental, emissions, ISO, and quality requirements.
+ Address and prioritize project planning items outlined by SOTs.
+ Review root cause analysis for equipment and manpower resource requirements.
+ Follow, track, and report all BPD process metrics.
+ Drive and promote continuous improvement processes at all operational levels.
+ Report safety incidents with required details in a timely manner.
+ Attend planning and coordination meetings for project assignments.
+ Support health, safety, and environmental programs.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in HVAC, facilities maintenance, and plant engineering.
+ Operators License for relevant equipment.
+ Experience with boilers, chillers, and powerhouse operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School or Technical Trade School education.
+ Former military service with machinist mate, boiler mate, or gas trane tech experience.

Work Environment
The work setting is a typical union automotive plant, which may expose workers to wet and/or humid conditions and loud noises from moving mechanical equipment. The team consists of 12-15 members, including 2 mechanics and 8 stationary engineers. The dress code is casual, with jeans and a polo being appropriate attire.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $37.56 - $37.56/hr.
