Certified Welding Inspector

Description
The Certified Welding Inspector will ensure all welding activities meet AWS standards and quality requirements. This role involves performing inspections, maintaining compliance with codes, and supporting continuous improvement in welding processes.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct visual inspections of welds for compliance with AWS D1.1, D1.5, and other applicable codes.
Perform nondestructive testing (NDT) methods such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
Review welding procedures, welder qualifications, and ensure adherence to project specifications.
Maintain accurate inspection reports and quality documentation.
Collaborate with welders, fabricators, and project managers to resolve quality issues.
Assist in developing and updating welding procedures and quality control processes.
Stay current with industry standards and code revisions.
Back up the QC Manager when required and participate in production meetings.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credential preferred.
Experience with structural steel welding inspection and familiarity with AWS codes.
Proficiency in interpreting welding symbols, blueprints, and technical drawings.
Strong understanding of welding processes (SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, GTAW).
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
