    Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

    Job Description

    The maintenance department is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of all building systems, as well as the equipment associated with the production, packaging, and distribution of products. A qualified candidate possesses multi-craft qualities and a strong knowledge across mechanical, electrical, and process fields. The candidate should effectively assess and correct unplanned equipment breakdowns to help meet the facility's objectives.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical systems.

    + Conduct preventative maintenance on building systems and production equipment.

    + Utilize blueprints and schematics for maintenance and repair tasks.

    + Assist in the upkeep of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

    + Prioritize tasks and maintain productivity under pressure.

    + Collaborate with the plant engineer to address maintenance issues.

    + Teach and mentor other team members in maintenance practices.

    Essential Skills

    + Troubleshooting

    + Problem Solving

    + Electrical and Mechanical proficiency

    + Ability to work with Pneumatics and Hydraulics

    + Experience in PLC troubleshooting

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics

    + Strong mechanical aptitude

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Leadership skills

    + Experience in an industrial environment

    + Familiarity with heavy equipment maintenance

    Work Environment

     

    This position is based in a steel shop, which can be hot during the summer months. You will work closely with the plant engineer in an industrial setting.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bridgeport, CT.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $27.14 - $27.14/hr.
