As an Assistant Buyer, you will work closely with buyers on the Non-Purchase Order (NPO) process, creating weekly NPO agendas and initiating new charting methods for interim price reports, NPO systems, and other required tasks. You will resource parts, process credit/debit memos, resolve departmental issues across systems and purchasing topics, maintain MDI trackers and SP systems, set up and process daily stock redirects, process sales agreements, track shipments, and analyze COPIS tickets, directing open tickets to the appropriate buyer. Special projects may also be required.
Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with buyers on the NPO process and create weekly agendas.
+ Initiate and develop new charting methods for interim price reports and NPO systems.
+ Resource parts and process credit/debit memos efficiently.
+ Resolve departmental issues across all systems and purchasing topics.
+ Maintain MDI trackers and SP systems.
+ Set up and process daily stock redirects.
+ Process sales agreements and track shipments accurately.
+ Analyze COPIS tickets and direct open tickets to the appropriate buyer.
+ Engage in special projects as needed.
Essential Skills
+ 2+ years of experience in purchasing as an assistant or junior buyer.
+ Proficient in SAP, either through work or educational experience.
+ 2+ years of experience in tracking, reporting, and cross-functional work.
+ Strong skills in purchasing, supply chain, and procurement.
+ Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data entry.
+ Excellent administrative support and vendor management skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with order entry and supplier follow-up is desirable.
Work Environment
The position offers a hybrid work environment, currently requiring four days in the office and one day from home, subject to change based on leadership direction. The office is located in Allen Park, with a potential move to a nearby location. The workspace features an open concept with no assigned desks. The dress code is business casual, with khakis or dress pants and button-down shirts or blouses acceptable. Work hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours per week. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
