    Logistics Manager

    Job Description

    As a Logistics Manager, you will oversee daily logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, carrier scheduling, and transportation. You will be responsible for managing freight carrier relationships, negotiating contracts, and monitoring performance to ensure cost-efficiency and quality. Collaboration with purchasing, operations, customer service, and warehouse teams is crucial for seamless order fulfillment. Additionally, you will optimize transportation routes, freight costs, and inventory flow using logistics and ERP systems.

    Responsibilities

    + Monitor and manage freight claims, shipping documentation, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as DOT and OSHA.

    + Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics performance and process improvement.

    + Maintain open communication with internal departments and external partners to ensure supply chain transparency.

    + Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental regulations.

    + Lead, coach, and develop logistics personnel, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

    + Support strategic initiatives such as expansion, system upgrades, and network optimization.

    Essential Skills

    + Proven ability to manage freight operations, third-party carriers, and transportation costs.

    + Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, carrier operations, and international/domestic shipping.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software, including ERP systems and TMS.

    + Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

    + Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a customer-first mindset.

    + Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.

    + 5+ years of logistics or supply chain management experience, preferably in manufacturing or distribution.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience in customer service, freight management, and transportation.

    + Proficiency in data entry and analysis.

    Work Environment

    The position is onsite from 8 AM to 5 PM in Strongsville, OH. The work environment is dynamic, requiring adaptability and effective communication across various teams and partners. The role demands compliance with safety and quality standards, creating a professional and regulated setting.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Strongsville, OH.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
