Cable Technician – Electrical & Low Voltage Systems

Schedule: Full-time | Must be open to overnight travel and on-call rotation

Pay Range: Competitive hourly rate based on experience $18-$23 + travel per diem + benefits

About the Role

Join a team that keeps critical systems running smoothly. As a Cable Technician, you’ll travel to customer locations to install, maintain, and repair electrical and low-voltage systems—including cabling, batteries, and related equipment. You’ll be the face of our company in the field, delivering high-quality service and building trust with every visit.

What You’ll Do

+ Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and low-voltage systems (Cat5, structured cabling, batteries, etc.)

+ Perform preventative maintenance and ensure equipment meets operational standards

+ Train customers and team members on safe equipment use and maintenance procedures

+ Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation

+ Operate forklifts and material handling equipment in accordance with OSHA standards

+ Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies (OSHA, DOT Hazmat, ISO9000)

+ Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams to ensure service excellence

+ Manage company assets including service vehicle, tools, inventory, and test equipment

+ Function independently with minimal supervision

What You Bring

+ Certificate or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Technology (or related field)

+ Hands-on experience in electrical systems, cabling, or battery installation preferred

+ Ability to read schematics and use diagnostic/test equipment

+ Strong math skills (basic arithmetic, fractions, decimals)

+ Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills

+ Ability to differentiate colors and lift up to 50 lbs regularly

+ Willingness to travel overnight and work in plant/warehouse environments

+ Comfortable with bending, kneeling, standing for long periods, and wearing PPE

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
