    Position Summary:

    Position Summary:

    The Nurse Manager – Operating Room works in partnership with leaders in planning, directing, organizing, monitoring and staffing the department subject to policies, budgets, objectives and directives mandated by regulatory agencies, DNV and the hospital administrative team. This position develops and implements patient care policies that are based on evidence and/or best practice standards and comply with regulatory requirements. As new nursing knowledge and innovations in practice advance, leads their application into practice and ensures standardized implementation across the department by working closely and in collaboration with other department nurse leaders and educators.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Required

    + Bachelor Degree in Nursing

    + Current Montana RN Licensure

    + American Heart Association BLS

    + American Heart Association ACLS

    + American Heart Association PALS required within one (1) year

    + Current patient care experience in the operating room setting

    Preferred

    + Master Degree in Nursing or a health care related field

    + Certification in Nursing Leadership (AONE or ANCC)

    + Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)

    + Leadership experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery center setting

    In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.

     

    + Directs broad operations of assigned department to ensure the provision of comprehensive services in compliance with all regulatory agencies and hospital requirements.

    + Ensures a collaborative departmental approach to operational planning, care/service design and development of organizational policies, which reflect the mission of the organization.

    + Coordinates and assists with oversight of departmental services. Continuously assesses, measures and improves departmental performance.

    + Demonstrates responsible management of all departmental resources.

    + Demonstrates clinical/technical and managerial competency.

    + Leads, teaches, inspires, helps and consistently demonstrates hospital behavioral standards

    + Strong leadership managerial skills; ability to plan, delegate, monitor and improve work performance

    + Demonstrates sound judgement, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times

    Schedule Requirements

    + This role requires regular and sustained attendance.

    + The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.

    + On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.

Job tasks may involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances. Infectious diseases are caused by contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses.
