This role is critical in ensuring the successful and timely delivery of materials for New Product Introduction (NPI) and sustaining programs. The Materials Program Manager will serve as the primary materials liaison between Engineering, Procurement, and external suppliers, driving material readiness and mitigating supply chain risks throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
The Material Program Manager performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

+ **Supplier & Cross-Functional Coordination:** Act as the primary materials interface between Engineering, Procurement, Planning, Quality, and Manufacturing to drive alignment on material requirements and timelines.
+ **Inventory & Cost Strategy:** Collaborate with Procurement and Planning teams to define and optimize inventory strategies for NPI and production phases, balancing material availability with cost and cash flow targets. Track and drive Material Cost Reduction (MCR) initiatives.
+ **Data Analysis & Reporting:** Develop and maintain comprehensive materials program schedules, tracking critical milestones and reporting on material status, risk assessments, and readiness metrics to senior leadership on a regular basis.
+ **Change Management:** Manage material implications of engineering changes (ECOs) and product obsolescence, leading End-of-Life (EOL) and Last Time Buy (LTB) activities to ensure smooth transitions and prevent production line downs.

+ 4 to 6 years of progressive experience in Materials Program Management, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a relevant Operations role within a high-volume manufacturing sector.
+ Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Certification in Supply Chain Management(e.g., APICS CPIM/CSCP) is an asset.
+ Proven, hands-on experience managing materials from prototype/design verification (DV) builds through mass production (MP) launch.
+ Strong proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Power BI) for tracking, reporting, and forecasting.
+ Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
+ Demonstrated ability to perform detailed supply chain risk analysis and develop executable mitigation plans.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
+ **Work Environment:** Primarily an office-based role requiring focus for analysis and reporting, with regular virtual or in-person meetings with cross-functional teams and global suppliers.
+ **Physical Demands:** Requires occasional domestic and international travel (up to 10-15%) for supplier visits and internal site reviews.
+ **Flexibility:** Must be able to manage a high volume of detail, prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment, and occasionally work across different time zones to coordinate global material flow.
