ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Adjusts, maintains and tests boiler and air-conditioning machinery and mechanical, electrical or pneumatic control instruments and safety devices.

+ Applies cost-effective measures in utilization of time and supplies.

+ Available to the Director of Facilities for emergency response situations.

+ Inspects and keeps mechanical plant and all related equipment rooms clean.

+ Maintains logs of plant operations and records maintenance repairs or alterations to equipment.

+ Maintains professional growth and development for job-related skills and techniques through educational programs, seminars, workshops, and experience on the job.

+ Operates, inspects and performs minor maintenance repairs and alterations to air-conditioning machinery and emergency diesel powered electric generating equipment.

+ Operates, maintains, inspects and makes minor repairs to boilers, motors, steam traps, expansion tanks, air compressors, supply and exhaust fans, pumps and valves, water heaters and related auxiliary equipment.

+ Operates, maintains, inspects and performs maintenance repairs and mechanical alterations to manual and automatic gas and oil-fired high-pressure steam or high temperature hot water boilers.

+ Performs any tasks as required for the efficient maintenance of the hospital.

+ Responsible for understanding and participating in the organization-wide Quality Improvement Program through orientation, education, departmental and interdepartmental quality control and planning activities.

+ Responsible for water treatment of boilers, softeners and cooling towers.

Must have 5 years Hospital experience of working with boilers, chillers and related equipment with overall knowledge of general maintenance skills.

Pay Transparency

The hourly rate range for this position is $26.75 -$35.11. POSITION SUMMARY Operate and maintain stationary gas and oil-fired boilers and auxiliary equipment. Takes responsibility for the operation of main chillers and related equipment. Perform maintenance calls for facility
