Description:
**JOB SUMMARY** The Pharmacy Cashier performs non-technical duties within the pharmacy under the supervision of a pharmacist. The Pharmacy Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service by efficiently handling transactions, answering basic patient inquiries, and assisting with the front end operation of the pharmacy. This role also supports the pharmacy operations by assisting with inventory management tasks, including stocking shelves, checking for expiring medications, and maintaining inventory records. This position requires attention to detail, confidentiality, and coordination with pharmacists and technicians to ensure smooth workflow and patient satisfaction.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A high school diploma or equivalent is required
2. Registration with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy as Pharmacy Support Person required prior to first day of work and maintained throughout employment.
3.Follows BOP rule 657-5.14 reporting to board any change of name, address, place of employment or employment status within 10 days.
Experience:
1. Previous retail or retail pharmacy experience preferred

Tact, diplomacy, accuracy, dependability and flexibility
Proficient mathematical skills
Must follow all laws and regulations related to the practice of pharmacy and the position of pharmacy support person
