    Description

    We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to drive complex manufacturing process development and optimization for Amazon's internal industrial product manufacturing operations. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and scaling manufacturing capabilities while ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and operational excellence.

    Key job responsibilities

    - As a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer , you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of complex manufacturing processes and sub-systems that drive operational excellence across multiple production lines.

     

    - You will develop manufacturing system architectures and own process validation methodologies that ensure consistent quality output. Critical to this role is your ability to create and implement comprehensive test strategies that verify manufacturing process capability and stability.

     

    - You will drive strategic manufacturing decisions that balance quality, cost, and scalability requirements. This includes identifying and tackling intrinsically complex manufacturing challenges that impact product quality, availability, and costs across our operations.

     

    - You will develop mechanisms to prevent recurring issues and standardize best practices, while influencing product design decisions early in development. Your expertise will be essential in establishing scalable manufacturing best practices and standard work procedures that can be implemented across different manufacturing sites.

     

    - You will partner extensively with cross-functional teams to integrate manufacturing requirements into product development cycles.

     

    - Lead vendor and supplier relationships, driving manufacturing technology selection decisions that align with our operational goals. Through collaboration with quality and operations teams, you will implement process controls and improvement initiatives that enhance our manufacturing capabilities.

     

    - Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance across manufacturing operations, helping to build and maintain our engineering excellence.

     

    - Leading complex projects that require coordination across multiple teams and manufacturing sites.

     

    - Develop and implement metrics to track manufacturing performance and drive improvements, while creating comprehensive documentation and training materials that enable knowledge transfer and operational consistency. Your work will directly impact our ability to scale manufacturing operations efficiently while maintaining Amazon's high standards for quality and reliability.

    Basic Qualifications

    - Bachelor's degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering

     

    - 5+ years of manufacturing, process, industrial engineering experience

     

    - Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing efforts, transportation and logistics, or fulfillment and distribution centers

     

    - Experience developing products for large volume production

     

    - Experience solving problems with technology in the Automotive & Manufacturing industries

     

    - Experience leading process improvements

     

    - Experience in mentoring, leading, or managing more junior engineers

    Preferred Qualifications

    - Experience in automotive or other high-volume manufacturing environments

     

    - Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies

    - Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and quality management systems

    - Experience with process automation and Industry 4.0 technologies

     

    - Background in continuous improvement methodologies

     

    - Experience working with contract manufacturers and suppliers

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
