    **Premera is seeking a Director, Software Engineering** who will support Premera’s strategic commitment **to progress** our **member-centric innovation** . This Director will lead engineering efforts across customer service platforms and member experience journeys, ensuring scalable, intelligent, and integrated systems.

    This pivotal role will impact:

    **Member Satisfaction:** Aligning engineering with service operations to enhance service levels and member experience.

    **Architectural Cohesion:** Building scalable, integrated member journey platforms for long-term success.

    **Talent Optimization:** Fostering technical talent growth, retention, and internal mobility within customer service domains.

    We are seeking a talented leader that will bring:

    o **Engineering Breadth and Depth**

    + Thought Leadership and **_technical_** **_expertise_** across the Software engineering, architecture especially in developing services (API), web/mobile experiences

    What you will do:

    + Lead engineering of applications/services that deliver modern member experiences across web and mobile

    + Implement/support AI use cases in the customer service and solution architect areas

    + Establish meaningful engineering measures that help teams introspect and improve

    + Drive a LiveSite culture across the team, working closely with reliability engineering leadership

    + Develop functional and technical roadmaps for the key capabilities, partnering effectively with peer organizations in business, Product, and Program Management

    + Provide technical and execution leadership for initiatives assigned

    + Lead technical evaluation for any third-party software/service that may be required to be implemented to support a business scenario

    + Develop technology strategies that support long-term growth and sustainability. Develop an operational plan that is flexible in a changing environment

    + Continually seek and consider innovative solutions to business problems and apply as relevant in support of the organization's mission, culture, and philosophy. Develop best practices and drive the process of creative thinking and solutions. Lead change and adoption of new processes and technologies.

    + Lead a varied workforce, including full-time employees, contingent workers, and outsourced offshore partners

    + In collaboration with senior leaders, develop and achieve a resilient organizational structure and workforce to support long-term objectives. Provide opportunities and the framework for team members' career advancement. Responsible for the interpretation, communication, and understanding of department and company goals, mission, and philosophy to associates. Provide consistent performance feedback.

    + Working with leadership, determine where financial and human capital resources are best utilized and allocated to maintain operational excellence. Responsible for establishing and operating within departmental budget.

    + Maintain knowledge of competing projects and programs across departments and outside area of accountability. Collaborate with peers to prioritize projects, deliverables and resolve competing priorities. As part of a collective senior management team, provide recommendations.

    What you will bring:

    + Ten plus years of experience in Software Development

    + Five years of experience managing two or more software engineering teams

    + Four years of experience working in DevSecOps model

    + Four + years of experience designing secure, scalable, and cost-efficient PaaS services on the Microsoft Azure platform or equivalent cloud platform with Live Site monitoring and operating in DevSecOps environment.

    + Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or four years of work experience.

    The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.

     

    The salary range for this role is posted below; we generally target up to and around the midpoint of the range.

    Salary Range:

    $153,700.00 - $307,400.00
