The Order Entry/Customer Service Pharmacy Technician plays a critical role in managing order entry and triage within a pharmacy setting. This position involves handling incoming calls, liaising with Long-Term Care (LTC) facilities, pharmacists, nurses, and physicians, and processing drug orders received via faxes and other forms. The technician is also responsible for answering medication-related questions, assessing patient profiles to decide on order placements, and preparing documents for order processing. This role is straightforward and repetitive, requiring the entry of approximately 40-45 medication orders per hour.
Responsibilities
+ Handle and direct incoming calls appropriately.
+ Communicate effectively with LTC facilities, pharmacists, nurses, and physicians.
+ Receive and process drug orders via faxes and other forms.
+ Answer medication-related questions.
+ Assess patient profiles and decide on order placements.
+ Prepare documents by highlighting pertinent information.
+ Process approximately 40-45 medication orders per hour.
+ Call new admissions to LTC facilities.
+ Investigate and resolve order issues by reviewing past orders and understanding the Automatic Dispensing Unit.
+ Participate in document triaging and order transfers to retail pharmacies.
Essential Skills

Work Environment
The role is based in a quiet, office environment that is production-based and repetitive. It is a closed-door setting, not customer-facing, providing a structured work schedule. The position offers a start-up feel with a focus on technology. Employees will work from their own cubicle, and the schedule is predictable. Full-time hours are from 3 PM to 11:30 PM, with rotating weekends (once per month from 9 AM to 5:30 PM) and rotating holidays.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
