We are seeking an experienced quality professional to ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards in the aerospace sector. This role requires expertise in conducting audits, root cause analysis, First Article Inspections (FAI), and implementing corrective actions. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in improving supplier performance, reducing defects, and supporting the reliability of flight-critical parts.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards such as AS9100 and ISO 9001.
+ Identify root causes of non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
+ Review and approve First Article Inspections (FAI) to validate supplier manufacturing processes.
+ Lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives by analyzing the root cause of quality issues.
+ Monitor and analyze supplier performance metrics, initiating improvement plans when necessary.
+ Evaluate and qualify new suppliers through rigorous assessments and ensure corrective actions are in place before approval.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve supplier-related quality issues.
+ Review and validate supplier-submitted quality documentation such as PPAPs and control plans.
+ Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities by analyzing recurring issues.
+ Provide technical support and guidance to suppliers to address quality failures.
+ Maintain and manage the Approved Supplier List (ASL) by evaluating supplier performance.
+ Generate and present supplier quality reports to support management reviews and strategic decision-making.
Essential Skills
+ 3–5 years of experience in supplier quality or manufacturing quality in aerospace or a regulated industry.
+ Demonstrated success in managing supplier relationships and driving quality improvements.
+ Experience working in cross-functional teams and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
+ Proficiency in quality tools: Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 8D, FMEA, PPAP, APQP.
+ Knowledge of aerospace standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, and FAA/EASA regulations.
+ Familiarity with GD&T, engineering drawings, and manufacturing processes.
+ Strong understanding of corrective and preventive action (CAPA) systems.
+ Ability to travel to supplier sites as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field (Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial preferred).
+ ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar certification is highly desirable.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
+ Good understanding of ERP systems.
+ Advanced blueprint reading.
+ Familiarity with Kaizen, PDSA, and continuous improvement models.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, long-term position reporting to the Supply Chain Manager. The work schedule is a 4/10's format. The role requires travel to supplier sites, primarily within California, with very little out-of-state travel, totaling about 25%. The position involves interaction with all suppliers, and you will be the sole supplier quality engineer.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
