Actalent is currently hiring multiple manufacturing engineers for a premier client of ours in the Ottawa, IL area. We are ideally looking for individuals with experience working in a robotic, assembly or machining environment.
Role Overview
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll design and develop advanced hydraulic systems that meet stringent standards for pressure, flow, safety, and quality. This is a hands-on role where you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring innovative ideas to life and ensure exceptional product performance.
Key Responsibilities
+ Design and optimize hydraulic systems for new and existing products.
+ Analyze system performance to meet pressure, flow, safety, and quality requirements.
+ Partner with suppliers to define product and component specifications.
+ Develop project plans in collaboration with engineering, marketing, and production teams.
+ Coordinate implementation with production, service, and engineering teams.
+ Prepare and review engineering change packages for accuracy and completeness.
+ Utilize CAD tools and office software for design and documentation.
+ Monitor project progress and report to stakeholders.
+ Support cost-reduction initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
+ Evaluate product performance and customer satisfaction, including occasional field visits and trade show participation.
+ Perform additional duties and special projects as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
+ Minimum 5 years of experience in design and/or engineering.
+ Expertise in mobile equipment, project management, and engineering processes.
+ Proficiency in 2D schematics; AutoCAD experience preferred.
+ Strong communication skills and general computer literacy.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
+ Hands-on troubleshooting experience with complex hydraulic systems.
+ Skilled in component selection and full system design

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ottawa, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $55.00/hr.
