Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Job Description
The Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing a variety of laboratory testing procedures in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Serology, Microbiology, and Spirometry. The technician will report laboratory results to healthcare clinicians and alert them of any critical or out-of-range values, ensuring proper documentation of critical reports. The role also involves performing phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks for patients ranging from newborns to adults.
Responsibilities
+ Perform laboratory testing procedures across multiple disciplines including Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Serology, Microbiology, and Spirometry.
+ Report laboratory results to healthcare clinicians and alert them to any critical or out-of-range values.
+ Document critical reports accurately.
+ Perform phlebotomy procedures such as venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks for patients from newborn to 20 years old.
+ Prepare specimens for reference lab send outs, including labeling, resulting, and billing information.
+ Perform and document daily, weekly, and monthly quality control, including instrument maintenance.
+ Maintain inventory of lab supplies, reorder, and stock as necessary.
+ Assist in training Medical Assistants as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Chemistry, Microbiology, Serology, Urinalysis, Hematology, and Phlebotomy.
+ 2+ years of experience in performing phlebotomy in a fast-paced medical environment.
+ Experience in performing various lab tests such as urinalysis, serology, hematology, microbiology, and spirometry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma required.
+ MA certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA) preferred.
Work Environment
The position is 100% onsite at a medical clinic in Ft Lauderdale.
The work is conducted in a team setting with a shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 7:45 am to 4:45 pm, and every other Saturday.

This is a Permanent position based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30000.00 - $45000.00/yr.
