Now Hiring: Construction Superintendent
Job Description
The Construction Superintendent plays a vital role in supporting the Project Manager, General Superintendent, or Senior General Superintendent. The primary objective of this position is to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures in the field, focusing on safety, scheduling, budget, quality, and customer satisfaction. This role may involve leading small projects or overseeing specific areas of larger projects.
Responsibilities
+ Manage construction activities with minimal self-performed fieldwork.
+ Lead a crew of carpenters and supervise trade contractors across multiple project areas.
+ Enforce stringent safety standards and maintain a clean job site.
+ Conduct and manage weekly safety inspections.
+ Inspect work quality for compliance with design standards and ensure corrective actions are implemented as needed.
+ Collaborate on scheduling for individual trade contractors or project areas to meet milestone dates.
+ Coordinate and manage general conditions work and project logistics.
+ Review vendor drawings and submittals.
+ Ensure compliance of work with document plans in collaboration with A/E and subcontractors.
+ Review contractors' Quality Plans.
+ Prepare and distribute daily reports.
+ Resolve jurisdictional disputes.
+ Establish credibility among owners, trade contractors, unions, etc., by maintaining a fair and trustworthy environment.
Essential Skills
+ 3-4 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably multifamily projects.
+ Proficient in construction management with a focus on ground-up commercial projects with budgets ranging from $8-15 million.
+ Degree in Construction Management.
+ Experience with construction-related software such as Bluebeam, Timberline, and Microsoft Projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Preference for candidates with knowledge in carpentry.
+ Experience in managing project budgets of $8-15 million.
+ Ability to lead and drive a team to complete projects on time and within budget.
Work Environment
The Superintendent will be on-site for the duration of each project, ensuring a clean and safety-focused work environment. Projects can be located up to 1.5 hours away, with the ability to commute daily. The work includes projects such as restaurants, retail locations, medical clinics, multifamily historical renovations, and more. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, NE.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
