As a Quality Engineer, you will support both internal and supplier quality initiatives, lead root cause analysis efforts, and ensure compliance with aerospace standards such as AS9100. You will be the go-to quality expert for motor programs, working cross-functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production teams to improve processes and exceed customer expectations. In the short term, you will also perform inspection activities (receiving, in-process, and final), contributing directly to product quality as operations ramp up locally.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and maintain quality procedures for motor components and support AS9100 and ISO 9001 compliance efforts.
+ Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
+ Support and represent Quality in customer programs, audits, and FAI reviews.
+ Perform inspection of components and completed assemblies as needed.
+ Use quality tools (SPC, PFMEA, MSA) to reduce variability and improve outcomes.
+ Support data collection and analysis for quality and operational metrics.
+ Collaborate across departments to meet Quality and Delivery goals.
Essential Skills
+ Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, and aerospace/defense quality standards.
+ Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electronic drawings and specifications.
+ Strong skills in data analysis, problem-solving, and technical writing.
+ U.S. Citizenship required with eligibility to obtain security clearance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related).
+ 4+ years of experience in a quality-related role (new graduates with relevant experience may be considered).
+ Knowledge of special processes such as soldering, crimping, NDT, and surface treatments.
+ Experience with quality inspection equipment and tools.
+ Hands-on experience with corrective/preventive action systems (SCARs, CAPAs).
Work Environment
The position is full-time, with a schedule from Monday to Thursday (9 hours per day) and Friday (4 hours). Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required, with less than 10% travel. The work environment is split between the office and the hands-on manufacturing floor, requiring the use of safety equipment and the ability to lift and move items up to 25 lbs. Vision screening is required. The company offers flexible scheduling options, including compressed workweeks, and supports a strong, supportive workplace culture with multiple engagement events each quarter.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $53.00 - $62.50/hr.
