Job Title: Mechanical Builder

Job Description

The assembler will be responsible for assembling and piecing together parts, components, and sub-assemblies to produce commercial and industrial electrical units. You will receive daily work instructions from the lead and work closely with the engineering team to understand the assembly process.

Responsibilities

+ Position, gather, and arrange parts for proper assembly, verifying fit and tolerances.

+ Work independently in your own work area to perform assembly from start to finish using hand and power tools.

+ Interpret work instructions, designs, and schematics.

+ Mount assembled components such as transformers, panel boards, capacitors, circuit breakers, and switches in cabinets.

+ Assemble and fabricate sheet metal parts, mount assembled components, and ensure proper fit in cabinets.

+ Handle units that can vary in size (such as 7 feet tall by 6 feet wide).

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in using hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, hammers, and torque tools.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

+ Minimum of 1 year of assembly experience in a commercial or industrial setting.

+ Mechanical aptitude and the ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch.

+ Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.

+ Comfortable standing for the entire shift and capable of kneeling, bending, etc.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in environments with strong paint fumes.

+ Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled setting.

Work Environment

You will work in a smaller shop with around 10-15 employees. The environment is not temperature-controlled and can get warmer in the summer, with potential exposure to strong paint fumes. Steel-toed boots are required. You may wear one headphone while working. The role is a first shift position from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, with some voluntary overtime available.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plymouth, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
